Facial scars: analysis of 2713 clinical cases

Mechanical damage to soft tissues and bones is inevitable as a result of surgery in the maxillofacial area. In response trauma, complex neurohumoral mechanisms begin heal wound, which scar tissue formed. Cosmetic defects, functional problems such contractures deformities, well subjective disease symptoms itching pain, can dramatically affect quality life, their physical condition psychological health. According statistics, every year about 100 million people receive injuries that unsightly scars, 55% are postoperative. The purpose research was study possible results healing postoperative wounds with cicatricial deformations skin area based on materials retrospective analysis histories for 5 years. 2,713 medical patients hospitalized department period 2015–2019 were studied, 95.72% underwent surgical treatment. Some given treatment using operative access through oral cavity or conservative But external used most patients. Patients divided into groups depending nosology (patients diagnoses neoplasms head neck; traumatic facial skull; inflammatory diseases region; skeleton).
